Displacement doesn't work with normal direction

So there's another question of a similar nature from 8 months ago
(http://shaderforge.userecho.com/topic/476854-displacement-shader-wont-work-with-view-direction/)
but it remains unresolved, I'm trying to displace based on the surface's normal direction but I get this error. I'm using the latest version of SF and yeah this may be intended behavior I'm not sure

Assuming this was due to some other bug, closing it! Let me know if it pops up again :)

That's really odd - normal direction should definitely work, but looking at your console, it says it doesn't find the view direction.
I'll look into it

Really strange, I tried on my work computer and it had no issue with it
I'll try recreating it at home later
