Minimap / shader overview

When dealing with large shader trees it's really easy to get lost.

Having some sort of minimap, that would just show where "chunks" of the tree are would help in orientation.

With clickable area if possible, where you could fast travel to selected part of shader.

It seems to me that this is the wrong solution to a valid problem. I did consider this at first, but after implementing zooming, you had same overview, but without additional UI/minimap clutter. It also allows you to zoom in towards your cursor as well, so you can target it quite precisely.

Well, it shouldn't be a solution but rather addition to the zooming.

When I work with really large trees , sometimes I'm already unable to zoom out, so that I can see the whole tree - which isn't such a problem, but when I zoom out, I'm loosing the sense of what is "there" in the detail. I use it a lot, when searching for nodes and I have to zoom out, zoom in ..and again and again.. to find what I need. I "know" that it's somewhere in the right top corner of the tree, but there are other things as well, so I need to zoom in first, to find out, that it's not what I was looking for.

I understand that it's hard to imagine, I'll post a snapshot of a shader tree in a moment.

But with this minimap, I was aiming for something like in Playmaker, if you have a chance to try it, there it helps quite a lot.

that's how it looks :) any help in faster search is a plus, but I don't say that my idea is the only way, it's up to you, to decide
