Main menu should be non-modal, bugged for docked case.
1. Dock SF with Scene and Game tabs.
2. Start shader.
3. Press "Return to Menu".
First, note that window undocks (bug); may depend on window size. Second note that it's very easy to hit this accidentally when going for the "Scene" tab:
This closes the shader, which is very annoying when you have a few of them to search among to reopen the previous one.
Ideally, the handful of buttons in the main menu should just be in a submenu (eg. similar to how Settings works). Even two submenus - "Shader" (New..., Load...) and "Help" (Docs, Wiki, Context, ...).
As those UI experts say: "Modes are bad".
The only case I imagine the current menu is useful is when people first open the SF window. It's like Unity's launcher - nice friendly view that shows the options and recent projects etc., but then in Unity itself, those things are in the File menu, not requiring the user to return to the launcher.
SF is still the most awesome product on the Asset Store of course ;-)!
