outline alpha?

Is there any alpha control available with the outline?  I'm trying to animate the outline effect to fade in and out, but it's not working at all, even if I directly change the alpha in the color picker.  Nothing.

Not at the moment no, but maybe in the future!

Also, at the moment, there isn't a way to turn outline completely off if you have a node plugged into outline width(even with a toggle node or setting the value to 0). So, on complex meshes with a shader that uses outline , you can't really use alpha at all (you always see the "outline mesh").
