Open in Shader Forge in Inspector Gone

Andrew Lee 9 ár síðan updated by Freya Holmér (Developer) 9 ár síðan 4

Hello, I've noticed since the 1.22 update for me at least, the "Open in Shader Forge" button in the inspector has disappeared.

I've reinstalled 1.22 twice, and 1.24 twice as well and all times it seems to be missing this button.

Was the removal intentional?

Thanks!

btw my unity version is 5.2.2f1 personal edition.

It was not intentional, and I'm not getting the issue here :(

Not sure what could cause it

I've reinstalled Shader Forge 1.20, and the "Open in Shader Forge" button is back in the inspector, while running 1.20.

Another note (maybe it's related?): For updates prior to and including 1.20, I've always been able to just update Shader Forge through the asset store inside Unity and it would work and run the newer version. However any version after 1.20, update/import through Unity works, but when I load Shader Forge, it would still be the old version, causing me to have to delete the entire Shader Forge asset folder and re-install

It could be related. The problem with "just updating" is that Unity will never remove any assets on update, which means that if I delete something in SF, and you just patch on a new version, you'll still have the files that I deleted.

A full reinstall is always the safest route to go - I recommend trying that with the latest version :)
