I think this is because you didn't assign a normal map to the normal nodes when creating the shader, so they weren't marked as normal maps internally.
Can you assign a normal map to those nodes, and let me know if that fixed the issue? :)

Looks like it's fixed in 0.15, having no trouble opening and running it here!

Sounds like an external error cascading into several issues.
Are you getting any errors in the console when the shader is opened for the first time?

Edit: This was fixed in 0.14 I believe, as for the second part. I think I'll skip the first part for now, as the second feature kinda makes that one less useful :) If you still find it necessary, you can reopen a new topic on it!
