This issue is the same as i already posted about, its just related to zooming, i have the same thing and i expect that everybody has. its not a big deal but should be fixed to make it feel more professional. its just a little bit annoying but really no problem at all.
Dont know if that helps but i guess common navigation in 3d programms is alt+LMB for Panning, alt+MMB for Zooming, alt+RMB for rotating(which of course is not needed in SF), this is also the way i use my wacom with 3d programs.

I can completely understand Laurens wish, i hope though that wont collide with my wish for better one handed usage. Maybe there is a way to make most people happy, or well, even more happy ;)
ah missunderstood your post :D sorry
For me the zoom just works perfectly fine, like Joachim says it must be related to your scrollwheel settings. On my side(win7) zooming is not stepped but smooth.
yeah, MMB still works.

Although i am not sure if swapping alt+LMB and LMB will give full onehanded convinience, how would dragging nodes around work then? However i am confident you'll make it the best possible way!
it seems this is implemented now, at least to some extent... it does not show the whole flow but only to the next nodes but its a good start!
Sorry, they are somewhat related so i threw it into one thread.

I dont think there will be a way around some kind of manual routing, i am using node networks since a long time and i really know the strenghts and weaknesses of them. I used Worldmachine, Rendertree/ICE(Softimage/XSI), Hypershade(Maya), Mentalmill(Autodesk), UDK, Strumpys...

Worldmachines trees may look very bad but they are by far the best ones when it gets complex, followed by Softimages Rendertree/ICE. Most important feature are of course the compounds(nested nodes) but manual routing really helps a lot too!

Also i was thinking it should be much easier to implement those boxes as the dont have any real functionality. It could be a good way to organize the complex shaders until the nested nodes are implemented. I really love shaderforge but on complex trees i regularily get very confused. Any organization features will be very welcome!!
I think nested nodes are super important but sometimes those boxes have their purpose too, in worlmachine both exist and i use them both.
Unity usually takes ages to get new things done(see unity guy), i hope this wont be the case on their pbl stuff. I think that metalness would be a great addition.
